TABLE NO.1 is curated by Michelin-Star Chef Jason Atherton.  This British Chef achieved his remarkable culinary skills while working in the “Hell’s Kitchen” of Maze by Gordan Ramsay in Central London for nearly nine years.  His restaurant empire now extends beyond the United Kingdom and over to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, and Sydney.

The design of restaurant and the hotel of The Waterhouse 水舍 enhanced the entire dining experience.  Neri & Hu designed the extraordinary concept of the old and the new – a contemporary boutique hotel built into an existing Japanese Army headquarters building from the 1930’s.  A courtyard separates the dining area and the kitchen.  The contrast of the interior decor brings the feeling of being taken away from the chaotic Shanghai but while still in Shanghai.  Our celebrations dinner was mind blowing.  The creativity in Atherton’s dishes was like a gastronomic heaven.  I just don’t have enough amazing words to describe just how wondrous this meal was.
